UNLV Office of Economic Development
Jamie Schwartz serves as the Director of Industry and Business Engagement for UNLV’s Office of Economic Development (OED) and as Associate Director of the UNLV Research Foundation. Her focus includes organizational strategy, industry partnerships, technology development, venture fund creation, and the development of UNLV’s research and technology park.
With a background as a Business Valuator and Exit Strategist, and over a decade of experience building a company in Bio-Medical Research, Jamie brings a unique combination of expertise in Executive Management, Stakeholder Collaboration, Commercialization, Real Estate Development, and Strategic Planning.
Jamie collaborates with industry partners and local, state, and federal agencies to design and implement programs that support technology commercialization and industry diversification, addressing community needs and strategic opportunities. She is currently co-directing the launch of Scarlet Capital, an early-stage venture fund focused on providing funding to startups within the UNLV ecosystem.
Her strong commitment to advancing health and medicine in southern Nevada is reflected in her co-leadership of UNLV’s NIA R25 INNOVATOR Alzheimer’s Innovation Program Award, a research and education initiative aimed at improving brain health and addressing Alzheimer’s and Dementia. Jamie is also a regular speaker on topics including technology integration, women in business and technology, economic diversification, and innovation districts.
