R&R Partners, a full-service integrated agency, is seeking a Public Relations Assistant Account Executive to serve the Visit Las Vegas consumer PR program. The Public Relations Assistant Account Executive will have a passion for storytelling and media relations for the industries we serve. Candidates must have 1-2+ years of media relations and influencer management experience with demonstrated results. Experience working in the travel and tourism industry preferred; great opportunity for those with in-house experience who are eager to transition to the agency environment.


  • Supports daily activities for primary and other designated accounts as part of an account team
  • Monitor, track, and report coverage for an assigned portfolio of accounts
  • Supports media relations programming; Contributes 35 percent of time to proactive media relations
  • Vetting incoming media requests for review; supporting as needed
  • Serves as a resource for media contacts and provides support for client communications
  • Collaborates on new, fresh story concepts and proactively pitches them to relevant media
  • Supports client media familiarization tours and local market visits; staffing as needed
  • Aids in the development of client materials such as press releases, media alerts, photo captions, pitches to journalists, and fact sheets
  • Assists with client relations through meetings (in person or virtual), events and general contact
  • Supports the preparation of meetings, agendas, notes and reports
  • Keep up to date with the latest industry news and social media trends to provide recommendations
  • Manages and tracks promotional items
  • Proactively prioritizes and understands the objectives of client


  • A team player whose qualities and motivations align with our agency’s core values – fearless, integrity, advocacy, impact, ingenuity and foresight
  • 1-2 years of communications experience in the travel industry
  • BA or BS in public relations, journalism, communications or related fields
  • Excellent interpersonal and communication skills
  • Previous experience supporting media relations, pitching journalists, arranging press trips and staffing events
  • Excellent writing skills, with a strong attention to detail
  • Utilizes social media tools and has adeptly integrated social media into public relations initiatives
  • A voracious appetite for reading: magazine, newspapers, blogs – you scan them all, with attention to trends and how outlets are structuring their content
  • The ability to work independently in a deadline-driven environment
  • Proficiency in AP Style
  • Proficiency in utilizing media monitoring software, news wires, and platforms like Muck Rack or similar tools, coupled with adeptness in MS Office suite
  • Passion for the travel, tourism and hospitality industry and the ability to spot trends
  • Excellent interpersonal and communication skills
  • Solid project management skills and the ability to juggle multiple accounts
  • Prior experience through an internship or similar work experience
